So per usual I could not get hypothes.is to work when annotation this reading, (and I am even using chrome!!!!) but I just went ahead and read it anyway, without annotating.
This article is about all the different types of identities that people give us. Donna E. Alverman goes into detail about how we were labeled from the start about what kind of reader we were. I find this to be very accurate because from the beginning, I was labeled as the slow reader and my sister was labeled as the avid reader, so automatically everyone thought and knew that she was the smarter one, which only made me fall behind more because I was down about myself. I feel as though giving labels to people is unfair and pointless.
